Matthew J. became interested in electronic music at the early age of 11 when he was introduced to dance remixes of popular artists of the early 90’s such as Michael & Janet Jackson, Gloria Estefan, and Madonna. This led to the discovering of artists abroad; Massive Attack, Sasha, Underworld, BT, William Orbit and other artists under the radar of the radio airwaves.
As Matthew J. had also been inspired by the melodic sounds of the 1990’s progressive house, downtempo/ambient, and world music he strives to weave sounds of numerous genres to present a modern day fusion of popular and underground dance music. He has played numerous clubs and events throughout the American west coast opening for the likes of John Digweed, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Henry Saiz, Sandra Collins and many other well known artists in the electronic music community.
